Yesterday, I was stressed. Beyond stressed, you could say. I had a test at 1:45pm, and I didn't feel prepared enough.
I put the baby down for a nap, and a nonsensical telemarketer decided to call 4 times in a row, so he woke up and began to cry, looking nothing like going back to sleep.
On the fourth call, the last ring, I answered the phone, and basically gave it to that woman. She proceeded to tell me that she hadn't called 4 times, and that I was being unruly and rude. Well, I hung up.
I was flustered. I lost my cool. I was feeling BAD, like I actally needed to apologize to her. No. I needed to change how I felt.
I went and change my clothes, and geared the baby to talk a walk. Immediately, I felt better just being outside. I added an extra jacket to my outfit, despite being 98 degrees out, so I began to sweat, and it felt amazing.
See, when stress hits you, your body produces cortisol, which has many bad effects, but one is preventing fat from leaving your belly area. To combat cortisol, you need endorphins, and endorphins come from exercise.
When we got back, 30 minutes later, I did my circuit training:
25 situps
25 jumping jacks
10 burpees
10 squats
10 side squats
Repeat 4 times.
The last two sets I used twolb ankle weights, and believe me I'm feeling it today.
Grabbed the supplements I needed, vitamin c and glutamine, and then went and reviewed for the test.
In the end, the storm prevented me from taking my exam, but I didn't know I wouldn't be taking it.
Stress management is essential to health and fitness, remember to breath deeply and use exercise to a release. It feels the best!
Good luck!
