This morning I woke up and made a decision.
Instead of a diet coke and buttery popcorn, which sounded good, I went and pressed the little green start button on the coffee pot. I had planned ahead and premade it yesterday so it would brew at 6a.m. Well, I was up at 5:45a.m., so I had to start it myself. Either way, I made the decision to choose the best thing for my health. That's what I chose to show up for and it's what I want to work on most.
That's why, instead of spending all of my time writing about baking gluten free vegan treats (although, better for you than regular treats, they are still sugary and empty carbs), I am choosing to write something daily about my health and fitness.
I actually crave to write something new, almost like I formulate and reformulate an idea until that perfect statement, phrase, or message pops out.
It is my way of showing up to being physically, mentally, and emotionally fit. @mastinkipp writes about showing up to your goals and dreams daily, and with that you are making a decision to do something for yourself, and once you get past the excuses, you see what's waiting for you on the other side....the satisfation, whether it be a slimmer body, better job, furthering your education, mastering a new skill, or just living life in a certain manner.
He talks about his inner brat that says he doesn't have to do something because he is sooooo perrrrrrfecccccct. But does that actually make you better? No, its an excuse and it keeps you in the same place as you were before: stuck in a spot where movement isn't possible.
I love reading Mastin's email in the morning with my breakfast. This morning was no exception, and because I was up early snuggling and watching "mr. Poppers penguins" with the little guy, I thought it was a nice moment to write this. (He is laying on my legs...just adorable. Atleast my feet are warm, even if they may be numb.)
So, with my lovely cup of black joe, I also had fresh fruit: papaya, pineapple, strawberries and blueberries. The combination of those 4 tasty, fiber filled bites of goodness mix together so perfectly, and they fuel me to make good food choices for the rest of the day. *having an abundance of fresh fruit and veggies in the house makes it a little bit easier to make these choices, so choose wisely at the store, too!!*
I didn't let the little brat, who was out and roaring last might at 10p.m. begging for popcorn, out again. I've been making advances, and just because I'm tiredm crumpy, sore, lazy, mad, happy....doesn't mean she can be the boss. I call her Wendy Whiner.
Remember: healthy lifestyle is an every day choice. Don't let your inner brat win the battle of choosing what's right. Don't let your fear of failure hold you back from taking one step at a time.
Love you all, no matter what decision you make, but are you happy with you? *tough question, I know*
Have a great day, loves.
